Note from the founder
Swaachi is shaped by the Curaçao I grew up in.
Life on the island was simple. A constant breeze, bright sun, and untouched beaches full of sea life. The rhythm was unhurried, poko poko, as we say. Colorful houses worn by time, driftwood scattered along the shores, that lived-in, effortless charm still inspires every texture and tone I work with.
From that calm place, I moved to the Netherlands to study law. After graduating, I spent over two decades practicing law. A fast-paced world that I enjoyed for many years but the rhythm of home never left me. Eventually, I felt the need to slow down and reconnect with something more hands-on and creative.
I found that in leather. A material rich with memory and texture. It can’t be rushed. Every punch and stitch asks for patience and intention. What began as a personal outlet became a new way of creating meaning with my hands.
